It is with great sadness that we note that Ian passed away peacefully in his sleep on 21 June 2020.  Ian had suffered a long illness, and will be fondly remembered by us all here at Circa for his gentle manner and winning smile.

Ian was a well-known Technician in the Wellington Theatre Community and worked tirelessly as a Lighting Designer for many Circa shows including CHEAPSIDE (1987), NOEL AND GERTIE, EMERALD CITY (1989), WEED, BREAKING THE CODE (1990), GLORIOUS RUINS, VIA SATELLITE (1991).  He became a member of the Circa Council in 1990 and his technical expertise was invaluable as Circa looked to move from its Harris Street premises to it new building on the waterfront in 1994.

We will never forget Ian’s contribution to the theatre, and our thoughts are with his loving wife Sue and his family at this time.

A celebration of Ian’s life is being held at The Wilson Funeral Home, 375 Adelaide Road, Newtown, on Friday 26th June 2020 at 11am.
