Step into the fractured future of Aqua Nullius, a speculative Pasifika futurism play series by Emele Ugavule, where memory, data, and ancestry collide. This double bill presentation – Toe Fai! and Talaucaka – weaves together two interconnected worlds that imagine futures shaped by ecological collapse and technological empire. Drawing from an Indigenous Pacific perspective, Aqua Nullius reclaims the right to imagine beyond colonial timelines, exploring futurism, memory, and digital colonialism through embodied storytelling and collective resistance.
Reviews:
“Stirring something deep within our Indigenous spirit, striking the very core of who we are. Shaken, but in a good way…your message is what our generation urgently need. We believe in the power of your message – to awaken others, to inspire protection of what’s ours – before it’s too late.” – Tokelau in Tech
“Making the trip down from Auckland was worth it. It was an awesome weekend and a great performance from everyone involved” – Audience member
