Circa Theatre is looking for an independent contractor with a background in PR and social media to work for individual Circa Theatre shows.

Job Description

Circa Theatre is looking for an independent contractor for ad hoc promotion of shows. Applicants must have a background in PR and social media to support the promotion of shows at Circa Theatre, among the diverse existing audience and new and emerging audiences.  The overall goal of the role is to increase ticket sales for the respective shows.

The position would report to the show and be available for ad hoc project.  The applicant must have experience in marketing, PR, social media and copywriting/editing.  Experience in the arts or entertainment promotion would also be desirable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Promotion of show’s and selling show tickets.

Stimulating media and editorial opportunities for promotion of shows in Wellington and New Zealand

Management of show social media and newsletter content and execution

Writing copy for collateral materials, press releases, web pages, social media, newsletters and blog.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/QUALITIES:

*        Experienced in Digital Marketing (Google & Meta).

*        Social media management and content development.

*        Experienced PR and Media Manager.

*        Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with the Circa Theatre Marketing Manager, Wellington & NZ based media, the general public, Circa audience’s and any show sponsors.

*        Excellent networking and collaboration skills.

*        Excellent written skills.

*        Experience in copy-editing and proof-reading.
