From Wednesday 8 July through to Fri 25 Sep, LT McGuinness will be matching every donation to Circa Theatre at a rate of 50% ($1 for every $2 donated). They will contribute up to $50K, which – if fully unlocked – will raise a total of $150K for Circa Theatre and Circa creative artists.
LT McGuinness completed the Great Circa Rebuild project in 2025: a major renovation of Circa Theatre’s external facade. Now they’re moving from the exterior to the (metaphorical) interior, spearheading this fundraiser as Platinum Campaign Sponsor. As a Welly-based family company who are deeply committed to the local community, LT McGuinness are proud to lay the foundations of this campaign to support the legendary Wellington waterfront theatre.
This campaign is centred on funding the work that goes on behind the scenes at Circa Theatre to present their high-calibre programming. Tens of thousands of audience members come to see live theatre at Circa every year; those audiences see world-class performances on stage, but they may not see the ongoing hidden work – such as box office, front of house management, ushers, technical equipment / upkeep, marketing, accounting, and general operations – that keep this busy theatre running smoothly. As Circa celebrates its 50th year, LT McGuinness are supporting the Circa Theatre family who contribute to making Wellington a vibrant city, enriching the greater community through their work. Furthermore, a portion of LT McGuinness’ donation will go directly to Circa artists through Theatre Artists Charitable Trust (TACT).
Of course, LT McGuinness are matching sponsors, which means Circa Theatre still needs your support to unlock the full contribution. You can participate by donating any amount, especially at one of the following tiers:
- $50: receive a special Circa 50 enamel pin (pictured above)
- $250: receive a free year of our Friends of Circa membership (transferrable; T&Cs apply)
- $500: be credited as a Silver Campaign Sponsor and have your name / logo appear in the smaller Silver tier in all marketing and reporting for this campaign, including in Circa Theatre’s 2027 Programme
- $5,000: be credited as a Gold Campaign Sponsor and have your name/logo appear in the larger Gold tier in all marketing and reporting for this campaign, including the 2027 Programme
- $50,000: be credited alongside LT McGuinness as a Platinum Campaign Sponsor and have your name / logo appear prominently in all marketing and reporting for this campaign, including the 2027 Programme

- Funding Split: Circa Theatre and Theatre Artists Charitable Trust (TACT) are separate registered charities. All community contributions to this fundraising campaign go directly to Circa Theatre, with donation receipts issued from Circa Theatre. According to their wishes, LT McGuinness’ match will comprise of two donations amounting to a maximum total of $50K: max. $35K to TACT, and max. $15K to Circa.
- TACT directly pays the many creatives who put their work on the Circa stages: actors, directors, technical operators, and so many more.
- Circa Theatre manages the overall operations, facilities, equipment, maintenance, and staff who support the production teams all year round.

- $250 Donation T&Cs: Upon completion of the campaign, donors of $250 or more will receive an email from Circa Theatre to confirm whether the Friends of Circa membership should go to the donor or to another person of their choosing. If there is no response before 31 Oct 2026, the membership automatically applies to the donor. The membership begins 1 Nov 2026 and expires on 31 Oct 2027.
