Aotearoa’s longest running political satire series, Public Service Announcements, is back at Circa Theatre to crash another election party!
From the depths of bureaucracy, from the bowels of the Beehive, amidst the rise of a three-headed taniwha, protests and strikes… another election looms and the politicians swarm.
Coalitions crumble, loyalties burn, Winston probably survives another term somehow and the nation faces a meltdown it really didn’t vote for.
Irreverent and rowdy, PSA delivers up-to-the-minute raucous political comedy and features Pōneke’s funniest performers.
Public Service Announcements began as a late night comedy experiment in 2011, created by James Nokise and Anya Tate-Manning. Over the last 5 election cycles we have created 19 original productions at BATs and Circa Theatre, and over 100 artists have worked on PSA across the last 15 years.
PSA balances smart and stupid; inside political gags and fart jokes, a ruthless investigation of leaders and election promises, but most importantly side-splitting, pants-wetting comedy.
This time Carrie Green takes the wheel as Director, and we have an all-star line-up of hilarious Wellington performers, and a team of razor sharp writers and designers.
