Lorae Parry
Lorae was born in Sydney and moved to New Zealand in 1973. She is a playwright, actress and director with an extensive writing and acting career. Three of her stage plays have been published by The Women’s Play Press – Frontwomen, Cracks, and Bloomsbury Women & The Wild Colonial Girl; and two by Victoria University Press – Vagabonds and Eugenia. Lorae was awarded the Stout Fellowship at Victoria University in 1994. She was the first woman playwright to become Writer In Residence at Victorian University in 1999. She has a Masters Degree in Scriptwriting. In 2004 she was awarded an MNZM in the Queen’s Honours for her services to the Performing Arts.
